’05 Elites Get 5 of 6 Points

The 2005 Elites entered the weekend with three games in the E9 and an opportunity to secure first place in the league by picking up three out of the total six points on the table. They picked up 5 points and enjoyed a quiet celebration Sunday morning. The team started with a hard fought 2-1 victory over the Avalanche on Saturday afternoon, tied the Boston Advantage 1-1, despite out shooting them 30 to 10, and beat  the Boston Advantage when they played again Sunday afternoon 4-1.  An off-weekend next week awaits followed by four games to finish the season against the Warriors, Saints, and Wizards (two games in Bedford on 2/25).

’05 Select White with Big Weekend Wins

’05 Select White beat the Giants Select twice over the weekend. They played once in Attleboro and once in Tewksbury.  The line of the weekend was Riley Abbott, Marcel Joe and Jake Madden who factored in on 9 of the 12 goals scored. Abbott had the GWG on Saturday finishing with 2 goals and 1 assist in the 3-1 win. Munini played very well posting the shutout for his half of the game. Defense and backchecking was very solid with notable backchecking from Jacob Riley and great efforts by Michael Hughes.

The Sunday game finished 9-3. Abbott, Madden and Joe each had 6 point games. Other highlights from the weekend were a breakaway goal by Gavin Hudson and a red hot Jake Madden with 5 goals! Munini continued to play strong only getting scored on once all weekend. The defense played solid all weekend and will need to continue that down the stretch. The Rangers are making a good push for 4th place in the division and are well positioned for the playoffs.

'07 Elites Take Down Wizards

Saturday evening the Rangers were back at The Edge in Bedford, MA taking on the East Coast Wizards. The Rangers posted a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals by Austin Gartner and Zander Green.  The Wizards would battle back to tie the game at 2 midway through the second period. Just 7 seconds later, Ian Dalton would beat the Wizards goalie with a beauty goal to put the Rangers back on top 3-2. Anthony DiFranco would add another second period goal to add to the lead. The Wizards would add a third period goal before Green would seal the deal with an empty netter. Adding assists on the night were Gartner, Green, Dalton, Joey Giacchetto, Brady Sacco, Kevin Vaughan, and Will Hughes. The entire team played a great game coming together. Kieran Carlin and AJ Yeung were stellar on defense along with Big Joe and Kevs. Davie Karlberg stopped 22 shots for the win.
